REFLECTIONS:

  • something that surprised or delighted you

  • something that excited or inspired you

  • something you’re curious to know more about

QUESTIONS:

  1. Have you seen/experienced racial and economic inequality factor into climate-related disasters and recovery? Can you imagine what a few concrete steps toward climate/disaster justice could look like?

  2. Are there practices, knowledge, and values passed down to you from your ancestors that promote living in harmony with the natural world?

  3. Should we be (re)building in places we know are highly vulnerable to climate risks? If so, should there be any constraints?

  4. Are there major problems or possibilities left out of this section?

  5. Can you imagine your understanding of “home” shifting in the context of the climate crisis? How so?

ACTIONS:

  • Get to know your neighbors. Imagine together what bolstered community care could look like.

  • Find mutual aid groups in your community and consider getting involved. (See: mutualaidhub.org)

  • Consider what devotions you might make to climate solutions and your community.

  • Prepare — individually and collectively — for power outages, floods, fires, and whatever climate impacts are anticipated for your area.

  • Other ideas for action?
